National Fine Arts: Tuesday Afternoon

Tuesday afternoon we visited the Louisville Slugger Museum.  The sidewalks out front were lined with a bunch of these.  This one was Babe Ruth's.

And just outside of the museum/factory was the world's largest baseball bat.
Neat scene in the museum...
Our students got to hold some baseball bats that had belonged to some famous major leaguers..

More scenes...
Here are the students posing with some baseball stars...

Such a boring machine...
Another scene..
Here are the students holding a billet.
We couldn't take pictures on the actual museum tour, but when we finished we got to see the wall of signatures that could be branded onto the bats.
Memorial Stadium-I got to go there as a kid...

Pitching machine...
Here is a window into the factory...
Giant baseball glove...
Playing in the kids batting area...

Posing at the giant bat with our souvenir bats...
Walking away.
One last look into the factory...
Walking back towards the convention center, we found a giant chess piece...
...and another horse...
...and a weird statue...
...and a unique limo.

Louisville has the neatest bike racks.
Next we stopped at Vint, a coffee shop/smoothie joint.
They had cake pops, too.
A couple students had smoothies, and I had a frozen coffee.
Neat fountain/wishing well...
...making a wish...
We passed by the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.
Passed another bike rack...
And got some exercise on some bike rentals...
They were way too entertained by revolving doors...
Louisville has some neat trolleys.
City street...
This walkway was from the parking garage to the convention center.
In this window was a lady working.  We waved to her from the parking garage, and she waved back.
Next we checked out a few more Short Sermons...

We walked to dinner next, and passed yet another horse...
...on the way to White Castle-something we don't have in Texas.
Waiting for our food...
It took 20 burgers to feed us.
Wall art.
From there we walked to the Yum! Center for the evening service.  On the way we spotted another historical marker.
This old computer was on display in a store front...
We passed a diner called Hillbilly Tea.
And yet another historical marker...
Outside the Yum! Center were some fountains.  Can you see the rainbow?

Also out front of the Yum! Center, was a Cardinal, but we thought it looked like an Angry Bird.
Inside the Yum! Center...
Scaring the fish...
Pretty views of the Ohio River...

The band was warming up...
Human video performance...
Alton Garrison and Jay Mooney...
Worship time...

Sermon by Chet Caudill on finishing what you start...
He even mentioned Garfield...
Great service!  We saw a neat carriage on the way back to the hotel.  It was a really long, but enjoyable day!
