Chuck's

My hubby has been craving catfish for a while.  We have tried it several different places, and it just wasn't quite right.  He wanted good catfish.  We finally decided to take a trip down to Temple-we remember a catfish place, Chuck's, out in the middle of nowhere, that has great catfish, and on Friday's it is all you can eat.  Yes, I realize it is a little out of the way to get good catfish, but it was okay-we picked up my niece and in-laws on the way so we would have good company.  This time the wait was excessively long (both to get a seat, and to get our food), but that has never been a problem in the past.  (We were at the restaurant for 2 hours).  Thankfully, the food didn't fail-it was super hot, and what you expect catfish to taste like-perfect!  Unfortunately, I left my camera, so I couldn't get a picture of the food, but my hubby happened to snap a picture of our niece while we were waiting for a table.  Isn't she adorable?  Yes, we will be back at some point I am sure, but next time we'll try to go a little earlier before they get too busy.

Milestone 2

Back when I made my first milestone, I actually got ahead of myself and posted the results too soon. So when I made my second milestone back on March 25 of a total of 20 pounds of weight loss, I was leery of posting my milestone.  But now I am fully convinced that I have met the goal. I did have one day after that when my weight was up a little, but other than that, I have been consistently under that 20 pound goal. Yippee! 40 pounds to go!

Tornadoes!

Today, there were 25 tornadoes in the metroplex.  Most of the damage done was in Arlington, Forney, and Lancaster; although many cities had tornadic activity and warnings throughout the day.  The boys schools were on lock down for a while, and my office building had the hallways available for those who worked upstairs or near windows while the sirens were going off.  A friend in Kennedale (near Arlington) posted some pictures near her home of the damage afterward:

These are fence posts from a neighbors house that flew through an upstairs window and embedded themselves in the house across the street.
You always see strange things like this after a tornado:
There were many downed trees and damaged house.
Another friend took a picture of the footage she saw on the news which as alarming-18 wheelers being tossed around like something from the movies:
And here is some footage of the tornado crossing the highway in Arlington:

I am thankful my family is safe today!

Hibachi

Today our pastor invited all of the ministry leaders within the church to eat at Hibachi.  Here, he introduced my hubby's new position as the Ministries Director (he is still the Youth Pastor, too) to everyone.  I have never been to Hibachi, or any other restaurant like it.  It was a neat experience-the chef prepared the food right in front us on grill.  I got lots of pictures-many didn't turn out too good since he was working at such a quick pace the whole time.  It was all very entertaining, and the food was great, too!

Revolve Tour

We had such a great weekend at the Revolve Tour!  We got to the hotel last night, and had time for a late night swim...
We even had a midnight snack.
Isn't this a great looking group of girls?
Revolve Tour was held at The Riverbend Church, which has a beautiful, huge campus!
Isn't the fountain beautiful?
A group picture of the girls by the fountain!
Here was one of their neat rooms for communion.
Unfortunately, while we were waiting for the event to start, one of our girls had an injury, and we had to take her to the emergency room.  The doctor said the x-rays had a shadow on it, so they couldn't tell if she had a fracture or not.  She left on crutches, but was eager to get back to the conference.  What a trooper!
We got back to the conference relatively quickly, and entered the Riverbend Center for the Arts-what a great venue!
Jamie Grace performed, and our girls fell in love with her music-as did I!
Jenna Lucado Bishop spoke, and had a great message on dreaming big for God.  Here she is on roller blades!
Stellar Kart performed, as well.  I love their music, and was happy to see them perform again.
I think everyone had a great time, and it was great to spend time bonding with our girls!

Austin Bound

Today the girls from our youth are headed to Austin for a retreat. We stopped in Waco for dinner, and are headed for the hotel now.  I am excited for what is to come!
