Happy New Year! Many people celebrate today by eating traditional "lucky" foods-and whatever their background is determines what they eat. I was raised in Virginia, and being a good southern state, we ate black-eyed peas. I had always heard that up north people ate boiled cabbage-something we didn't normally eat in my home. Turns out, eating corned beef and cabbage is an Irish-American tradition for New Years. Since my hubby and I love Irish food, we have been eating that the past few years. But this year we decided on black eyed peas again. I can't wait for dinner!
